Nigerian Businessman Arrested for Concealing Cocaine in Private Parts at Lagos Airport

The NDLEA arrested Uch Onyekwer, a Nigerian businessman based in Brazil, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for hiding cocaine in his private parts and footwear. Onyekwer, aged 47, was apprehended during inward clearance after arriving on a South African Airways flight from Brazil via Johannesburg.

The arrest, which occurred on January 29, 2026, led to the discovery of 1.60 kilograms of cocaine concealed on his body and in his footwear. Further investigations revealed that Onyekwer confessed to purchasing the drugs in Brazil with the intent to resell them in Nigeria to raise capital for his business and to finance a naming ceremony for his newborn child.

Additionally, the NDLEA intercepted significant drug consignments in Tincan Seaport, Lagos, and along the Abuja Expressway, leading to the arrest of suspects Andi Chidogu, Kenneth Ogen, Sadiq Olanrewaju, and Shaibu Yusuf.
