Man Jailed for Stealing Cigarettes in Adamawa, Nigeria

A 48-year-old man named Mathia Yusuf was sentenced to three months in jail for stealing sticks of cigarettes in Adamawa State, Nigeria. The sentence was delivered by the head of the Adamawa State Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman.

Yusuf was convicted of theft and had stolen items from a beer parlor in Jambutu, Yola North Local Government Area. He was apprehended after getting drunk on liquor he had stolen.

The man will serve his jail term after spending time in remand and performing community service at a health facility in Jambutu.
