Man Arrested for Murdering Motorcyclist in Ogun State

On April 8, 2026, at approximately 7 AM, Chidi Eber, 27, allegedly murdered Sundai Ogbu, a 36-year-old commercial motorcyclist, in Igbesa, Ogun State. Eber reportedly posed as a passenger to hijack Ogbu's motorcycle, resulting in a violent struggle that led to Ogbu being stabbed to death.

The Ogun State Police Command's spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed that the incident prompted an alarm, leading to police intervention. Ogbu was taken to the hospital for urgent medical attention but was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

Eber was apprehended at the scene, with the knife used in the attack recovered as evidence. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for thorough investigation.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the act and assured the public of justice, urging vigilance and reporting of suspicious activities to the police.
