Suspected Thief Kills Ogun Motorcyclist During Robbery

On Wednesday, a violent incident occurred in the Igbesa area of Ogun State, where a 27-year-old man named Chidi Eber allegedly attempted to steal a motorcycle from 36-year-old rider Sundai Ogbu. According to the Ogun State Police Command's public relations officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, Eber attacked Ogbu with a knife during the struggle to seize the motorcycle.
The attack led to a violent confrontation, resulting in Ogbu sustaining fatal injuries. Police were alerted to the scene and responded swiftly, rescuing Ogbu and transporting him to a hospital for urgent medical attention; however, he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
Eber was apprehended at the scene, and the knife used in the attack was recovered as evidence. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the act and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
