Man Impersonates Actor, Scams Woman of N28m, Sentenced to 50 Years

Osaibovo Charles posed as actor Fredrick Leonard to deceive Shenika Garati into sending him N28 million for a non-existent film project. The Ikeja Court found him guilty of fraud and sentenced him to 50 years in prison.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) also declared Timipre Sylva, a former minister, and governor, wanted for alleged corruption involving over N14 million. The case involved funds meant for the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board and the construction of a refinery by Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited.
