Man Shot Dead During APC Primaries Protest in Plateau

A man was shot dead at the venue of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Plateau. Eyewitness Ibrahim Sale confirmed that the victim was shot by a soldier following a disagreement that arose when the primaries, originally scheduled for Saturday morning, were delayed.

The youth protested the delay, alleging it was deliberate, and blocked roads to prevent officials from leaving the venue. As security personnel arrived to disperse the crowd, tensions escalated, leading to stone-throwing by the youth.

In response, soldiers fired live ammunition, resulting in the fatal shooting of the victim. The incident has sparked confusion among residents, who condemned the killing and called on relevant authorities to investigate and ensure justice for the victim.
