Nasarawa Man Sentenced to Death for Killing Herdsman in Landmark Legal Decision

In Nasarawa State, a man was sentenced to death by Chief Judge Aisha Muham Usman for the murder of a herdsman in a case involving criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and culpable homicide that occurred in 2015. The accused was arraigned on three counts, found guilty of armed robbery and culpable homicide, and discharged on the count of criminal conspiracy.

The Attorney General of Nasarawa State, Isaac Danladi, prosecuted the case, describing the judgment as a landmark decision. The defense plans to challenge the judgment in the appellate court, citing alleged inconsistencies in the prosecution's case.

The defense counsel, Chidi Okori Kanu, expressed dissatisfaction with the judgment and intends to appeal, emphasizing the need for a proper review of the decision.
