Mob Lynches Man Over Teenage Boy's Death in Nasarawa, Police Investigate

In Nasarawa, a mob lynched a man identified as Isma'ila Zaria over the death of a teenage boy, Aliyu Muhammadu Lawal, whose body was found in a pit in a neighbor's compound. Isma'ila Zaria, a former guard at the Keffi Emir Palace, was accused by residents of being linked to the boy's death.

The mob reportedly overpowered local vigilantes, vandalized their office, and lynched the suspect before security operatives could intervene. The father of the deceased boy, Muhammadu Lawal, denied any prior disputes with the suspect, attributing the incident to God's will.

The traditional title holder of Keffi, Yahaya Ladan Shafal, condemned the killing and distanced the Emir from the suspect, who no longer worked at the palace. The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing to unravel the circumstances of the mob action.
