Mangongo Appointed Head Coach for Nigeria Cricket Team

Stephen Maziva Mangongo has been appointed as the head coach of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) with a three-year contract aimed at qualifying Nigeria for the 2028 Cricket World Cup. Unveiled in Lagos, Mangongo, a Zimbabwean cricket coach with extensive experience, expressed excitement about his role and the potential of Nigerian cricket talent.

He emphasized the importance of hard work and setting ambitious goals to achieve success in the sport. Dr.

Uyi Akpata, the NCF president, indicated that Mangongo's role will include designing programs to refine grassroots development for both male and female players. Mangongo, who holds an ICC Level 3 coaching certification, brings over three decades of experience in cricket management and player development.

His contract will oversee technical development and implement high-performance structures to improve Nigeria's standing in global cricket.
