On Saturday, a fire broke out at the Purple Crown Hotel located on Balogun Street along Awolowo Road in Ikeja, Lagos, with many guests and staff narrowly escaping death. All occupants were safely evacuated to a designated muster point, with no injuries or fatalities reported. The fire was contained and extinguished, but access to the building was restricted due to smoke and damage.
