Kwankwaso Joins ADC, Welcomed by Political Leaders

On a significant political occasion, Rabiu Kwankwaso announced his resignation from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The event took place at his residence on Miller Road, where he was welcomed by notable political figures including David Mark, the ADC National Chairman, and Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate.

David Mark described Kwankwaso's defection as a defining moment in Nigeria's democratic journey, highlighting the importance of uniting opposition forces to build a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Mark called on Nigerian civil society and political actors to join the ADC in this effort.

Kwankwaso urged supporters to register with the ADC and emphasized the necessity of full political participation, encouraging Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to effect change in future elections, particularly in Kano State, where he has significant grassroots support.
