Marvel Unveils "Black Panther III" Release Date and Lead

Marvel Studios announced "Black Panther III" during Comic-Con on Saturday, with a release date set for December 15, 2028. British actor David Jonsson will take on the lead role as T’Challa's son, following the legacy of the original Black Panther, portrayed by Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020.

Jonsson, known for his roles in HBO's "Industry" and the film "The Long Walk," expressed gratitude for joining the Marvel family during his appearance at Comic-Con's Hall H. Oscar-winning director Ryan Coogler, who helmed the first two films, will return to direct the sequel.

Coogler stated that the film will focus on T’Challa’s son as he comes of age and follows in his father's footsteps. The first "Black Panther" film was a significant success, grossing $1.3 billion upon its 2018 release, featuring a cast that included Michael B.

Jordan, Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Danai Gurira, and Letitia Wright.
