Marwa Advocates Collective Action Against Drug Abuse, Banditry

Brigadier General Mohamed Marwa of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is advocating for collective action to combat drug abuse and banditry among Nigerian youth. Speaking at a seminar in Ogun State, Marwa emphasized the need for a united effort involving families, religious leaders, and communities to address the triple threat of violence, drug abuse, and cultism.

He highlighted the interconnected nature of these issues, noting that they feed into each other and contribute to societal destruction. Marwa also shared that the NDLEA has intensified its efforts in combating drug trafficking and abuse, leading to significant seizures and arrests.

The agency has also implemented Drug Demand Reduction programs, including outreach, sensitization, and rehabilitation initiatives, to address the root causes of drug abuse. Marwa stressed the importance of collective responsibility in curbing these social vices and providing support to those in need.
