NDLEA Advocates For Rehabilitation Centres To Combat Youth Addiction In Ogun

The Commander of the National Drugs Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ogun State, Tijjani Rabe, has advocated for the establishment of rehabilitation centers to combat drug addiction among youths in the state. Speaking at an event organized by the Consolidated Chapel of the Ogun State Chapter to mark the 2025 World International Youth Day, Rabe highlighted the need for such centers to help drug addicts, particularly youths, overcome addiction and achieve their dreams.

He expressed concern over the high number of drug abuse cases, including Cannabis Sativa, Colorado, Tramadol, and Codeine, among the youth in the state. Rabe emphasized the importance of prevention, education, and counseling in addressing addiction issues.

The NDLEA Commander revealed that the agency had arrested 395 suspects in the first half of the year, with a majority being male. He urged politicians and individuals to assist in the construction of rehabilitation centers to save youths from the menace of drug abuse.
