Matawalle gifts eight SUVs to Zamfara lawmakers who rejoined APC

Defence Minister Bello Matawalle distributed eight sports utility vehicles to members of Zamfara State House of Assembly. These lawmakers had recently realigned with the All Progressives Congress after departing earlier.

On Wednesday, October 21, the handover ceremony occurred in Gusau, with Yazid Danfulani acting as Matawalle's representative. These same legislators had previously abandoned the APC but chose to reverse course.

They recommitted themselves to the party and endorsed President Bola Tinubu's vision for 2027. Officials at the event characterized Matawalle's vehicle donation as serving dual purposes: a concrete way to assist the lawmakers' transition back to Zamfara, and symbolic evidence of APC's commitment to reconciling fractured party loyalties.

Danfulani, standing in for Matawalle during the presentation, highlighted how the minister worked toward uniting party members. He stressed that the donation would reinforce APC machinery at grassroots levels throughout the state.

The vehicles were meant to ease transport constraints faced by these legislators, enable them to connect with their communities, and bolster their capacity to mobilise voters across their districts as preparations accelerated for 2027's electoral contest. This initiative forms part of larger APC attempts to preserve cohesion among its supporters in Zamfara.

Matawalle leads the Tinubu Again Movement and has engaged extensively with party figures throughout the state. His involvement seeks to build cooperation as the electoral season draws near.
