Enugu State's New Hospital Set to Transform Healthcare

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State conducted a tour of the 300-bed Enugu International Hospital ahead of its inauguration, asserting that the state is prepared to welcome global patients. He emphasized that the hospital is fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and aims to reverse the trend of medical tourism, which sees many Nigerians traveling abroad for healthcare.

Mbah highlighted the hospital's role in addressing the scarcity of advanced medical services in Nigeria, particularly in oncology, and noted the interest from healthcare professionals in the diaspora to return and contribute to the local healthcare system. He stated that the hospital would also incorporate telemedicine and digital practices as part of its services.

Mbah reiterated that this initiative aligns with his administration's health agenda and economic vision to grow Enugu's economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion while improving life expectancy for its residents.
