Eno Inspects Ibom International Hospital, Advocates Health Insurance

On September 4, 2023, Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno conducted an unscheduled inspection of the Ibom International Hospital project in Uyo, which is expected to be completed by 2027. During the visit, he assessed the construction's pace and quality and interacted with the project team.

Eno expressed confidence that the hospital would provide world-class medical services, benefiting not only Akwa Ibom residents but also patients from other regions in Nigeria and Africa. He commended the efforts of the Commissioner for Health, Dr Ekem John, and other professionals involved in the project.

Eno highlighted the importance of health insurance, warning that without it, residents might struggle to afford specialized treatments. He urged Akwa Ibom residents to enroll in health insurance schemes voluntarily, emphasizing that affordable options are available.

The Governor reiterated that the health sector's improvement is central to his administration's ARISE development agenda, linking health to the effective use of investments in other sectors.
