Enugu State's New Hospital Set to Transform Healthcare

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State conducted a tour of the Enugu International Hospital, which is nearing inauguration and features 300 beds equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology. Mbah stated that the facility aims to position Enugu as a medical tourism hub, addressing the significant outflow of Nigerians seeking healthcare abroad.

He referenced the campaign manifesto that committed to enhancing healthcare in the state and acknowledged the need for advanced medical services, particularly in oncology. Mbah pointed out the scarcity of PET Scan services in Nigeria and expressed confidence that the new hospital would fill this gap.

He noted that many Nigerians currently travel to countries like India, Turkey, the United States, and the United Kingdom for medical care, and the hospital aims to provide comparable services at a fraction of the cost. Mbah concluded by stating that the hospital would not only offer advanced diagnostic capabilities but also therapeutic treatments, making it a premier healthcare destination in Enugu.
