Mbieri Community Marks 4 Years of Free Medical Services

The Mbieri community in Imo State, Nigeria, is celebrating four years of free medical services provided by the Ojiugo Free Medical Organization, established by Chief Nwabugo Ubochi. The initiative began in December 2021 and has since registered 1,000 users, employing four full-time staff and several part-time assistants.

The organization focuses on addressing significant health challenges such as high blood pressure and diabetes, which are prevalent among rural dwellers. Chief Nwabugo, a chemical engineer and director of a nuclear safety consultancy in the UK, mobilized support from medical professionals to implement this vision.

The Ojiugo center, inaugurated by the First Lady of Ondo State, Mr. Betti Anyanwu Akeredolu, aims to create awareness and promote healthier lifestyles in the community.

Chief Nwabugo, who is turning 50 this month, emphasizes that the organization operates without political or economic agendas, driven solely by a commitment to improving the well-being of the community.
