NWDC's Prof. Ma’aji Supports North-West Medical Students Convention

On September 23, 2026, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the North-West Development Commission, Prof. Ma’aji, welcomed a delegation from the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the North-West Regional Convention of Medical Students at the Commission’s Headquarters. The LOC, led by Chairman Khalifa Abdullahi Dahiru, announced that North-West University, Kano would host the four-day Convention starting the following day.

Bilal Muhaamad Bello, Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Students Association (NIMSA) Northern Caucus, sought institutional support for logistics and delegate welfare. Prof. Ma’aji acknowledged the late request but assured that the Commission would review it promptly, emphasizing Kano's reputation for hospitality.

He highlighted the importance of medical students in the region's healthcare future and directed relevant departments to assess the LOC's request. He wished the LOC a successful Convention, reinforcing the Commission's commitment to youth and human capital development.
