NEDC Hosts 2026 Excellence Forum in Maiduguri

On September 14, 2023, staff of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) convened in Maiduguri, Borno State, for a strategic summit titled “The 2026 Excellence Forum.” The event aimed to strengthen collaboration and improve service delivery across the six states of the North-East region: Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, and Taraba. Managing Director Mohammed Goni stated that the summit would focus on integrating principles of quality, accountability, and integrity into daily operations.

He highlighted that the commission's effectiveness would be measured by the quality of development delivered to the people of the North-East. Goni noted the importance of transitioning from certification standards to practical application in service delivery.

The forum included practical exercises and simulations to enhance collaboration and problem-solving. Goni emphasized that building capable personnel and improving internal systems are crucial for the NEDC's broader development mandate, aiming for a stronger commission that delivers better outcomes for the region.
