MEDA Launches RISE Project to Create 8,000 Jobs in Northern Nigeria

The Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) has introduced the RISE Project in Northern Nigeria to generate 8,000 employment opportunities and strengthen agricultural value chains over five years. The initiative, unveiled in Abuja and to be implemented in Bauchi, Kaduna, and Kano states, focuses on key crops like rice, maize, groundnut, and soybean.

The project aims to empower women and youth, supporting smallholder farmers, women-led enterprises, and farmer cooperatives. Notable figures involved include Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi and Pasqual Salvaggio from the Canadian High Commission.
