During a security summit in Abuja, the National Security Adviser, Mallam Ribadu, underscored the critical role of media-security collaboration in ensuring national stability. The event, which featured Dr.

Chido Onumah as a special adviser on strategic communication and civil society liaison, brought together various security institutions and media stakeholders to examine the evolving relationship between journalists and security agencies. The summit highlighted the necessity for a balanced approach that allows citizens access to credible information while protecting sensitive operational details.

General Christoph Musa from the Ministry of Defence and Inspector General Olatunji Disu of the Nigerian Police Force emphasized the importance of enhancing engagement mechanisms between security institutions and the media. Recommendations included sustaining engagement, improving verification processes, and establishing joint training programs.

The summit concluded that future security coordination will increasingly require operational capabilities to strengthen public confidence and national resilience.
