Stanley Osifo Challenges Tinubu for APC Presidential Ticket

Stanley Osifo, a 50-year-old businessman and politician from Edo State, challenged Bola Tinubu for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket for the 2027 elections. Despite widespread endorsements for Tinubu from top APC leaders, Osifo's candidacy drew interest as an alternative.

The primary election results announced on Sunday showed Tinubu securing a landslide victory with 10,999,162 votes, while Osifo garnered only 16,505 votes nationwide. Osifo, who previously expressed presidential ambitions with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2019 elections, purchased the APC's presidential nomination form for 100 million Naira, signaling serious intent.

Following his defeat, Osifo quickly conceded and pledged loyalty to the APC, promising to work with Tinubu and participate in party activities. He has been affiliated with the Social Democratic Party and the PDP in the past but joined the APC for this election.
