Meningitis Outbreak Claims 33 Young Lives in Sokoto

Meningitis has resulted in the deaths of 33 children in Sokoto. Dr.

Faruk Abubakar, representing the Sokoto Health Commission, addressed the issue during an advocacy meeting. He highlighted the importance of mass administration of azithromycin to children as a preventive measure against the disease.

The meeting also involved discussions on the elimination of maternal and neonatal tetanus, indicating a broader focus on improving health outcomes in the region.
