Wike Challenges Obi on IDP Camp Visits During Tenure

During a monthly media chat in Abuja, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, challenged Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate, to mention any Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp he visited while serving as governor. Wike accused Obi and other opposition members, including Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi, of misleading impoverished Nigerians.

In the same discussion, Wike revealed that President Bola Tinubu had given instructions that contributed to the APC's success in the recent area council elections held on February 21, 2026, where the party won five out of six chairmanship positions. Wike emphasized the importance of the APC's focus on satellite towns to ensure that government impacts are felt beyond the city center, highlighting the differences between residents in urban and satellite areas.
