Microsoft Trains Over 4 Million Nigerians in Digital Skills, Aims for 5 Million

Microsoft's partnership in Nigeria has seen the training of 4 million individuals in digital skills over 5 years, with plans to reach 5 million. Nony Ujam, Microsoft's Director of Government Affairs for West Africa, highlighted the success of the program, including 63,000 completions of specific training pathways and 43,000 Nigerians earning global certifications.

The initiative also involves training in artificial intelligence and collaboration with the Nigerian government to build a future-ready workforce. Abideen Yusuf noted Nigeria's AI adoption rate and the potential economic gains by 2030.

Olayinka David of Lagos Business School emphasized the importance of such partnerships in skill development.
