MBCG Urges Military to Sustain Offensive Against Insurgents

The Middle Belt Conscience Guard (MBCG) issued a statement on Friday, signed by Dr. Anthony Idoko, the President of the group, commending General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Defence Staff, for his visible leadership in military operations against insurgent groups in Nigeria.

The MBCG emphasized the importance of sustaining coordinated military operations to combat criminal activities across the country, particularly in the North Central and North East regions. They noted that recent military offensives have demonstrated a renewed commitment to improving tactics and coordination among security agencies.

The group praised the military's efforts to apply pressure on criminal elements and called for state governments and local communities to strengthen cooperation with security agencies. They highlighted the need for intelligence sharing and support structures to enhance security efforts.

The MBCG also urged the federal government to continue investing in military welfare and operational logistics to maintain the momentum of recent successes in restoring confidence among rural communities affected by violence.
