Josephine Oboh-Macleod Celebrates Ajegunle Music Legacy

Josephine Oboh-Macleod, also known as Johfrim, is organizing the Mighty Mouse John Oboh Celebration Preview in Lagos on August 29, 2026, to honor her father, John Oboh, a pioneer of Ajegunle music. Mighty Mouse was a renowned DJ, music producer, musician, and studio engineer who created the Ajegunle music genre in the early 90s at his Jahoha Music studio.

He played a significant role in nurturing artists such as Daddy Showkey and African China, addressing social issues through his music. Josephine views the event as a cultural duty to restore and elevate her father's legacy, which has influenced her work in Scotland through the Kakofoni Foundation and JOM Charity.

These organizations promote African creativity and celebrate influential artists. Josephine has also served as Mighty Mouse’s Executive Producer and has worked on projects like an Afro-Celtic musical fusion with Piper Norman MacLeod, furthering the reach of his music and message.
