Military Arrests Five for Maiduguri Girl's Killing

On April 4, a tragic incident in Maiduguri resulted in the death of a 14-year-old girl due to a reckless discharge of a firearm. The military's Operation Hadin Kai arrested five suspects linked to the incident, which occurred in the staff quarters of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

The suspects, identified as Muhammad Husaini (28), Abba Jiddu (25), Abba Kolo Moham (20), Ali Adam (20), and Nura Moham (18), were apprehended in the Ngomari area while collaborating with the Civilian Joint Task Force. Lt.

Col. Sani Uba condemned the act, describing it as unprofessional and a violation of government regulations regarding firearm use.

He emphasized that the Civilian Joint Task Force, a support group, is not permitted to engage in indiscriminate firearm use. A full investigation is underway in collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure justice is served.
