Military Rescues 397 Kidnapped Victims in July

In July, the Defence Headquarters reported the rescue of 397 kidnapped victims and the surrender of 57 terrorists and their family members as military operations intensified across Nigeria. Maj.

Gen. Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed these achievements on Friday.

The operations led to the neutralization of 102 terrorists and the arrest of 345 suspects, alongside the recovery of 59 weapons and 1,811 rounds of ammunition. In the North-East, troops of Operation HADIN KAI conducted offensives against Boko Haram and ISWAP, resulting in the neutralization of 54 terrorist fighters and the rescue of 102 kidnapped victims.

Notable incidents included the surrender of a senior ISWAP finance operative on July 25, who handed over an AK-47 rifle and cash. Additionally, on July 28, three suspected terrorists surrendered after fleeing due to air bombardments.

The military's ongoing operations reflect a significant impact on terrorist capabilities and morale.
