Minister Demands Cancellation Of Kano By-Election Over Violence

The Minister of State for Industry, Trade, and Investment has called for the cancellation of the Kano by-election due to violence and intimidation by armed thugs. The election, which took place on Saturday, was disrupted in the Bagwai and Shanono local government areas by hoodlums allegedly mobilized from within and outside the state.

The minister highlighted that the violence led to the disenfranchisement of voters and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to set a new date for the election. He emphasized the need for a free, fair, and transparent electoral process and urged security agencies to arrest and prosecute those responsible for the violence.

The minister also appealed to APC supporters in the constituency to protect the democratic process.
