NNPP Rejects APC’s Call For Cancellation Of Kano By-Elections

The NNPP has rejected the APC's call for the cancellation of the Kano by-elections. The APC had earlier urged INEC to cancel the elections in the Ghari constituency due to extreme violence during the polls.

However, the Kano Resident Electoral Commissioner confirmed that 100 suspected political thugs had been arrested in connection with the disturbances in Bagwai. The NNPP's National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, dismissed the APC's claims, stating that the elections were peaceful and credible, in line with Kano's electoral history.

Johnson also commended the voter resilience and the efforts of INEC and security agencies in ensuring a credible voting exercise. The NNPP spokesperson affirmed that the election had already been validated by INEC officials and that the outcome was legitimate.
