Ondo State Installs 233 Solar Streetlights for Communities

On a Wednesday in Akur, Ondo State, the Minister of Youth, Ayodel Olawamid, announced the installation of 233 solar-powered streetlights across several communities, including Ires Road, Alagbaka, Shagari Village, Odopetu, Odig, Ok Padi, Otutubiosun, Igboliki, Ijeminkin, and Irowo. Olusey Akintund, the chairman of the Coalition of Ondo Emergent Leaders, disclosed this initiative, which aims to reshape urban and rural communities through renewable energy.

Akintund explained that the project is designed to improve nighttime visibility and enhance the overall quality of life in these areas. He emphasized that the minister's efforts represent a bold step towards sustainable development and security enhancement, contributing to economic activity and restoring residents' confidence.

Akintund also urged the minister to expand the project to reach more communities, highlighting the importance of reliable lighting for safety and social well-being. This initiative aligns with the broader goals of the current administration under President Bola Tinubu.
