Minister Gaidam Addresses Retired Police Officers' Concerns

Ogbonnaya Anuma Nlia, who engaged with leaders of the National Association of Retired Police Officers Nigeria. The discussions focused on the urgent need for the passage and presidential assent of the Police Pension Welfare Bill, which is critical for addressing long-standing welfare challenges affecting retired officers.

CSP Raphael Irowainu (Rtd), the national chairman of the association, highlighted the hardships faced by retired police personnel who have contributed to the pension scheme but struggle to meet basic needs after years of dedicated service. The proposed Police Pension Board aims to improve welfare support and ensure the dignity of retired officers.

The minister assured the retired personnel of the federal government's commitment to resolving these issues urgently and urged them to remain calm and law-abiding while the ministry continues to work with relevant stakeholders.
