Umahi Advocates for Tinubu's Re-election to Complete Road Project

On Friday, Minister of Works David Umahi called for support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, emphasizing the critical need to complete the Phase II of the Bodo Bonni road project. During the Medallion Award ceremony organized by the Bodo Bonni Road Bridge Peace Committee in Abuja, Umahi stressed that the project is vital for transforming the economic and social landscape of coastal communities.

He noted that the project would provide a physical link, boost commerce, and enhance national cohesion by connecting coastal communities to the mainland. Umahi mentioned that the project has already received approval from the President, who has committed to commencing work immediately.

He urged the community to rally behind the President to ensure the project's continuation until 2027. Jasper Jumbo, chairman of the award committee, described the completion of the Bodo Bonni road as a significant achievement after decades of neglect.

He acknowledged the challenges faced, including funding constraints and community disputes, but highlighted the importance of advocacy and collaboration in overcoming these issues.
