Umahi Calls for Support for Tinubu's Re-election for Road Project

On Friday, David Umahi, the Minister of Works, called for support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election to facilitate the completion of the Bodo-Bonny road project. Speaking at the Medallion Award ceremony organized by the Bodo-Bonny Road Bridge Peace Committee in Abuja, Umahi emphasized the importance of the project for economic transformation and social development in coastal communities.

He noted that the project, which has been approved by the President, is crucial for linking the coastal areas with the mainland, reducing insecurity, and opening new economic opportunities in the Niger Delta. Umahi highlighted the challenges faced during the project's development, including funding constraints and community-related issues, but expressed optimism about its future.

He urged the community to rally behind the President to ensure the project's continuation until 2027. Former Minister Babatunde Fashola also contributed to the discussion, mentioning the introduction of Executive Order 7 to enable tax credits for funding the project.
