Umahi Calls for South-East Support for Tinubu's Projects

During an inspection of ongoing federal road projects in Enugu State, Minister of Works and Housing, Dave Umahi, emphasized the importance of the South-East region supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration ahead of the 2027 elections. He cited the reconstruction of the Enugu-Onitsha highway, a critical 15-kilometer stretch aimed at alleviating traffic challenges and boosting economic activities in the region.

Umahi noted that the project spans 214 kilometers and will utilize concrete for at least 50% of its length to enhance durability. He expressed optimism that these infrastructure efforts would reverse the trend of complaints regarding poor road conditions, which have historically plagued the region.

Umahi acknowledged the inherited liabilities of approximately N13 trillion across 2,000 projects and mentioned that delays in payments have affected contractors' work pace. He urged residents to recognize genuine efforts for progress and to support the current administration.
