Nigerian Society of Engineers Raises Concerns Over Exclusion of Local Engineers from Major Projects

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) raised alarm over the exclusion of local engineers from trillion-naira infrastructure projects in Nigeria. During the investiture ceremony in Abuja, NSE President Ali Alimasuya Rabiu criticized government ministries and agencies for breaching laws by not involving Nigerian engineers in major projects.

Rabiu urged President Buhari to mandate the compulsory engagement of Nigerian engineers in project design, supervision, and certification nationwide. The NSE also commended former President Margaret Oguntala and pledged to rebuild the organization's standards.

This move aims to align engineering practices with national priorities and enhance project delivery in the country.
