Ogun AG Declares Mirabel's Assault Claims False

On Wednesday, Ogun State Attorney General Oluwasina Ogungbad announced that the sexual assault claims made by TikTok user Nsikak Abigail Emem, popularly known as Mirabel, are false and lack merit for prosecution. The allegations, which emerged in February and sparked significant public outrage, were found to be fabricated after a comprehensive review of the circumstances.

Mirabel is currently receiving rehabilitation support from the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development as she prepares for further academic studies. The investigation revealed inconsistencies in her claims, including the absence of physical evidence and a lack of supporting phone records.

Mirabel voluntarily reported to the police, where she underwent a medical examination. In a related matter, Ogungbad also reported progress in the case of a gang rape involving a 15-year-old girl in the Ibogun area, with four suspects arrested.
