Mixed Reactions to Proposed Unified Energy Ministry in Nigeria

The proposal to create a unified Ministry of Energy by merging Nigeria's Ministries of Power and Petroleum has elicited mixed reactions. Energy analyst Kunle Stevenson supports the merger as a pragmatic step overdue for decades, while Chinedu Bosah emphasizes that it could end the blame game between the two ministries regarding power supply issues.

However, critics like Tayo Adegbemi caution that simply merging the ministries will not resolve the underlying problems in the power sector, which has been plagued by inefficiencies and corruption.
