Miyetti Allah Leader Bodejo Joins Taraba Senate Race

Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, the leader of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has announced his candidacy for the Taraba Central senatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). This declaration was made during a visit to the APC secretariat in Jalingo, where he expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election and highlighted Tinubu's achievements in the region.

Bodejo stated that he would not withdraw from the race in favor of any aspirant under a consensus arrangement, which is being considered by the APC leadership in Taraba State to adopt a consensus candidate ahead of future party primaries. He also mentioned that members of his association have begun mobilizing support across northern Nigeria in preparation for the 2027 presidential election.

Meanwhile, political observers believe that disagreements over the consensus plan could lead to internal crises within the APC chapter in Taraba State, particularly with suggestions from the state working committee, allegedly linked to Governor Agbu Kefa, advocating for a consensus candidate rather than competitive primaries.
