Modibo Demands Sack of NSA Ribadu Over Insecurity Issues

On Friday, political affairs analyst Modibo called for the removal of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, citing the worsening security situation in Nigeria. During a prime-time program on Arise Television, Modibo expressed concerns over the recent attacks by terrorists on military forward operating bases, which resulted in the deaths of several senior military officers, including at least three general officers.

He emphasized that the current security architecture is failing to adequately address the threats posed by armed groups. Modibo urged government security agencies to adopt modern technology to enhance surveillance and intelligence gathering, questioning why sophisticated monitoring systems have not been deployed around military installations.

He proposed the installation of round-the-clock surveillance systems and the use of satellite technology to track activities in vulnerable areas. Additionally, he criticized the ongoing practice of paying ransoms to terrorists, arguing that security agencies should be able to track criminals using advanced technology.
