Asake Faces Stage Chaos During US Tour Performance
During his performance at the Houston Toyota Center on September 5, 2026, Nigerian music star Asake encountered a chaotic moment when a group of women stormed the stage, attempting to engage with him. Rather than interacting with them, Asake kept his distance and continued his performance, smiling despite the commotion.
A video of the incident went viral, with fans praising his composure while others expressed concerns about the boundaries being crossed. In a separate but related incident, Asake announced the sad passing of a 33-year-old fan, Rebecca Ikumelo, who had suffered serious injuries during a stampede at a previous show.
He revealed that she had been hospitalized since the accident on Thursday before her unfortunate death. This incident has drawn attention to the safety of concert-goers and the responsibilities of performers during live events.
