Monaco Parts Ways with Paul Pogba After Injury Issues

Paul Pogba, the 33-year-old midfielder, will be released by Monaco following a series of injuries that hindered his performance. The French club announced on Wednesday that the objectives set for Pogba were “only partially achieved,” leading to the termination of his contract, which was set to run until June 2027.

Currently sidelined with a thigh injury after recovering from a knee issue, Pogba managed to play only six Ligue 1 games last season, totaling 115 minutes on the pitch. Monaco praised his “remarkable mindset, determination and unwavering high standards,” noting his positive influence on the squad despite his injuries.

Pogba expressed gratitude towards the club's president, management, teammates, staff, and supporters, acknowledging he had not played as many matches as he had hoped. Previously, Pogba had a successful career with Manchester United and Juventus, winning the World Cup with France in 2018.

However, he faced a four-year ban for doping, later reduced to 18 months after an appeal.
