Monarch Advocates for Road Development in Ondo Community

Oba Olanrewaju Adeyemi, the newly crowned monarch of Okeoro in Akoko South West Local Government Area, Ondo State, has urged the state government to prioritize road construction in the community. During a presentation of staff of office by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Friday, Adeyemi highlighted the urgent need for a good road network to improve transportation for residents.

He expressed appreciation for the stakeholders involved in the process that led to his emergence and emphasized the importance of developing the community over the next decade. Adeyemi also addressed security concerns, stating that there are no genuine issues with herders but condemned violent activities that threaten land ownership.

Governor Aiyedatiwa confirmed the formal recognition of the Okeoro stool following a court judgment delivered on July 3, 2023, which compelled the state government to recognize the community's traditional leadership. Mr. Esan Owolabi, chairman of Akoko North West Local Government Area, described the occasion as the beginning of a new era for the people of Okeoro.
