PDP Factions Clash Over Jonathan's 2027 Endorsement

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) is facing internal strife as factions led by Nyesom Wike and Tanimu Turaki trade accusations regarding plans to endorse former President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2027 presidential election. Wike's faction, which includes members loyal to him, has suspended former Deputy National Chairman Bode George and 23 others for alleged anti-party activities.

This suspension was announced in a statement signed by Kayod Ogunbiyi, the chairman of the party's disciplinary committee in Lagos State. Meanwhile, a report reveals that the forest corridor stretching across Oyo, Osun, Ogun, and Ekiti States has become a major infiltration route for bandits and kidnappers, posing a significant security threat in the South-West region.

The report cites credible sources, including local residents and hunters, indicating that these armed groups exploit weak surveillance in the area to launch attacks and abduct residents.
