Morocco Hires Swiss Law Firm for AFCON Legal Battle

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has engaged the Swiss-based legal firm Libra Law to manage its legal case concerning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) controversy. The team will be led by Jorg Esteban Ibarrola, a specialist in sports law and a former advisor to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

This move comes after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) appeal committee overturned the award of the AFCON title to Morocco, which had been previously granted. The engagement of top-tier legal expertise signals the possibility of further proceedings against CAF regarding this dispute.

The involvement of Ibarrola and his firm indicates Morocco's serious approach to contesting the decision and seeking a resolution in the ongoing AFCON final dispute.
