Morocco Selects Casablanca for 2030 World Cup Final

Morocco has officially named Casablanca as the venue for the 2030 FIFA World Cup final, a decision announced by Fouzi Lekjaa, the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, during a political party event in Bouznika on Thursday. Lekjaa stated that the final would be held in the Benslimane province, located approximately 60 kilometers from Casablanca, where the Hassan II Stadium is currently being constructed.

This stadium is expected to have a capacity of 115,000, making it the largest football-specific stadium globally, with an estimated construction cost of $12 billion. However, FIFA has not yet confirmed the final venue, as both Morocco and Spain are vying to host the match.

The Spanish football federation’s president, Rafael Louzán, has expressed that Spain should host the final. FIFA previously stated that claims regarding its President, Gianni Infantino, promising Morocco the final were "false and misleading." The 2030 World Cup will be jointly hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, with Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay staging centenary celebration matches.
