The Northern Patriot group has accused Nigerian lawmakers of betraying public trust by approving projects outside the budget framework, alleging that funds were spent without proper legislative approval. They specifically criticized Northern legislators for allegedly diverting resources through covert political strategies.

The group has initiated a process to recall Senate and House of Representatives members across the 19 Northern states. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has also criticized the current lawmakers, describing their actions as daylight robbery.

Alhaji Babagida Muazu, the group's president, plans to release a detailed report listing specific federal projects executed outside the budget framework.
